If you are interested in learning how to put these concepts into action for your business or nonprofit organization, I can be reached directly at ctrager (at) verizon.net. And, of course, referrals are always very welcome.

Leveraged Marketing Strategy

Marketing can be so much more than brochures, press releases and tweets. We can make compelling strategy and strong execution move organizations—if not mountains—and the work of our hands and minds (and yes, hearts) have enduring impact!

For more than 25 years I have been privileged to work with, and for, corporate and nonprofit leaders to integrate business and marketing objectives that drive real outcomes. Together we have positioned, branded, re-branded, taken to market, and built assets as diverse as a full array of financial services products, a huge (and many smaller) website, an online collaboration platform, a philanthropic institution, an Internet services firm, and a funeral home. Through teamwork, we have grown a partner event from 300 to nearly 12,000 participants, creating an economic engine that benefited more than 10 million people; successfully positioned a company for its next level of growth (acquisition); developed a philanthropic platform that attracted new donors and national interest; and increased satisfaction among website users by 50% in 12 months, while finding innovative ways to showcase products and saving costs in support.

The leverage comes from these principles, learned and honed through practice:

  • Agility. Things are not always as they seem, and they don’t stand still for very long. Leaders take nothing for granted.
  • Forthrightness. Change is dependent on our ability to acknowledge our strengths and weaknesses, and see the possibilities beyond where we sit today.
  • Rigor. Being thorough doesn’t have to be expensive or take a long time. You just have to know what you want to learn.
  • Commitment. Our best work comes from a place of genuine caring and pride. Excellence is a reflection of what we bring out in ourselves and others.

As a consultant, I bring the whole of this experience to every single engagement. I work personally with my clients to create opportunity by questioning assumptions and finding new ways to think about consumers and ourselves. We create new methodologies for putting the insights to work internally and with customers.

And along the way, we develop creative, well-executed marketing assets (like websites, brochures, and other stuff) that reflect new, more powerful voices in the market.
